  5. Site Survey and Ground Preparation

Jigsaw do not carry out site preparation, leveling or clearance work, unless agreed otherwise. We cannot accept any liability for damage to the product resulting from incorrect site preparation.

Whilst we are happy to give advice on ground preparation, ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure that the site is suitable.

Planning consent is rarely required and whilst we can give you our interpretation of the planning regulations we make no warranty as to correctness, suitability or acceptability and do not accept any liability for this guidance. If you are in any doubt ensure that you contact your local planning authority and/or discuss the project with neighbours prior to installation. Jigsaw cannot accept any responsibility for any discrepancies after installation.

  6. Installation

All installation is carried out by our trained craftsmen to ensure the integrity of our product and complete satisfaction to you the customer.

Safety is important and we would stress the necessity to keep pets, children and adults away whilst construction is in progress. Supervision of pets and children is your responsibility.

  7. Maintenance

On completion of the project we will give you guidelines and recommendations for the safe use and long term maintenance of your play equipment. The timber is pressure treated to ensure a long life. Periodical surface treatments such as paints or varnishes may be recommended.

Timber is a natural product. You can therefore expect cracks and shrinkages to occur over time. Regular checks to ensure the security of fastenings will ensure that your equipment will reward you with many years of service.

We aspire to build long term relationships with our customers and want to ensure that you feel comfortable recommending us. Although it is your responsibility for ensuring the relevant maintenance checks please contact us if you require advice on any aspect of the maintenance and/or safety issues.

  8. Ownership of Intellectual Property

The copyright and design rights to all designs including drawings and materials supplied to you as a customer or a prospective customer remain the property of Jigsaw Playstructures Ltd.

Legal ownership to the play equipment passes to you from Jigsaw upon receipt of full payment in cleared funds.

  9. Safety Certificate

The play equipment supplied by Jigsaw Playstructures Ltd are CE marked and conform to or exceed the appropriate European Toy Safety Standards (EN 71). Jigsaw also carries full product and public liability insurance, a copy of which is available on request.

  10. Use of Jigsaw Products

Whilst all of our equipment is manufactured and installed to the highest standard, Jigsaw cannot be held responsible for the safe use of our play structures. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that a child is at a suitable stage of development to use our products and that they remain supervised during play if appropriate. Other than where it results from our negligence, we accept no responsibility for any accident or injury resulting from misuse of or misadventure with the play equipment.

Jigsaw cannot accept responsibility for excessive mistreatment or use beyond the point for which the equipment was designed and originally intended. This is likely to shorten the life of the equipment and may invalidate our guarantee.

  11. Guarantees & warranty

All Jigsaw products carry a 10-year guarantee against timber rot and decay. Jigsaw guarantees the workmanship and materials in our play equipment for two years, subject to the following conditions or exclusions:-

Damage due to vandalism, abuse, acts of God, severe weather conditions, abnormal usage and unauthorized third parties is not warranted.

No warranty can be given for degradation of the product due to ordinary wear and tear.

You must have carried out appropriate maintenance in accordance with our recommendations and made at least monthly checks for damage arising from wear and tear and addressed any corrective action required.

No warranty is given for natural timber imperfections such as surface cracks, shakes, knots and holes are not covered under the terms of this warranty.

In our continual efforts to improve our products Jigsaw reserve the right to change product specification without notice.

  12. Limitation of Liability

In addition to any other limitation or exclusion stated elsewhere in these terms and conditions, the liability of Jigsaw Playstructures Ltd to you for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature and howsoever caused shall be limited to and in no circumstances exceed the price of the services or the goods supplied.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or restricts our liability to you in the event of death or personal injury resulting from the negligence of Jigsaw Play structures Ltd.
